Making DE&I as the Foundation for PACIFIC CONSULTANTS GROUP's Growth

PADECO's International Development Consulting Delivers Results Through an Outcome-oriented and Locally Focused Approach

In December 2023, PADECO Co., Ltd. became a member of PACIFIC CONSULTANTS GROUP. Then, in October 2026, it will newly start as PACIFIC PADECO INTERNATIONAL, a new company responsible for the group's international business while taking over PACIFIC CONSULTANTS' international business. We have talked to three individuals who have led PADECO for many years—Yojiro FUJIWARA, Director / Executive Vice President; Takashi SOMA, Director /Managing Executive Officer; and Yohei SOMA, Director /Managing Executive Officer—about PADECO's characteristics and strengths. Weaving Technology Together, Creating the Future

In October 2022, a Chief Technical General Manager System was introduced with the start of the FY72nd. Chief Technical General Manager leads the technical fields of PACIFIC CONSULTANTS and is responsible for formulating the PACIFIC CONSULTANTS's overall technical strategy, promoting orders and creating new businesses by leveraging high-level specialized skills, and fostering an organizational culture that emphasizes quality and technology. We interviewed three Chief Technical General Managers, Ryoji HIRAKAWA, Kenji SASAKI, and Hirokazu ICHIKAWA, about their past efforts and future prospects.

The Future of Regions and Community Development Envisioned by Kyushu Headquarters

It has been 10 years since the Kumamoto earthquake, an unprecedented event in the history of Japan, in which a series of violent tremors of intensity 7 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale occurred at the same time. PACIFIC CONSULTANTS Also Kyushu Branch Office (Kyushu Headquarters from October 2025) has played a part in the restoration and reconstruction project headed by (Kyushu from October 2025), which aims to "revitalize and create a safe and secure Kumamoto". In the Kyushu region, which is prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes, typhoons, and floods, PACIFIC CONSULTANTS plays an increasingly important role in disaster prevention and mitigation, as well as in social infrastructure services that support the local economy and the lives of citizens. We interviewed Takuya NAGATA, head of Kyushu Headquarters, and Takuro NAKANO, formerly of General Manager, Kyushu Branch Office and Senior Counselor, to find out how they will contribute to the development of the region as Kyushu Headquarters.

"Producing the Future" Through Co-Creation with Private Companies

In October 2025, coinciding with the start of the 75th fiscal year, PACIFIC CONSULTANTS established a new Solution Business Division. This new organization will work alongside private companies aiming to solve increasingly complex and diverse social issues and provide new value, to design and consider commercialization of customer-centric solutions and also support its implementation as a business. What exactly is the solution business that our company provides, and what is our goal for the future? We spoke with Director General - Kumiko KAJII and General Manager of Business Design Dept.- Daisaku TANAKA to find out.

15 Years Since Great East Japan Earthquake

March 2026 marks 15 years since the unprecedented Great East Japan Earthquake. Immediately after the disaster, PACIFIC CONSULTANTS decided to unite the entire company in its support of the affected areas, with support teams rushing to the Tohoku Branch Office from across the country. They carried out a massive scale and number of restoration and reconstruction projects in various locations, sometimes holding face-to-face discussions with local residents. Hiroaki ITO, General Manager of Tohoku Branch Office, Makoto KIMURA, Executive Manager, and Takahiro HORIAI, General Manager of Tohoku Land Infrastructure Dept. discussed how the Tohoku Branch Office led the effort and how it plans to build on its success and contribute to the region in the future.

Establishment of the River Basin Sediment Management Research Area at Kyoto University's Disaster Prevention Research Institute

In October 2025, PACIFIC CONSULTANTS established the "River Basin Sediment Management Research Area" as an endowed research Dept. at Kyoto University's Disaster Prevention Research Institute. The new research organization, "RiSM" (River Basin Sediment Management Lab.), has already begun operations, and has set an ambitious research theme that is unprecedented worldwide: "aiming to develop efficient and effective landslide prevention technologies through dynamic river management." The four faculty members in charge, Professor Hirofumi TAKEBAYASHI and Lecturer Masato KUWAHARA, along with our Representative Director, President Executive Officer Osamu OMOTO, and Chief Technical General Manager Ryoji HIRAKAWA, discussed future research and the outlook for social implementation.
